The bullet fatally struck cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was pronounced dead after being airlifted to a hospital in Albuquerque. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the shoulder by the same bullet but survived after treatment. After law suits were settled, the film was finally released in 2025.
